On November 21, 2025, Dianna Kay Johnson went to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family. Dianna was born to Calvin and Maxine (Ellis) Nickell in Clio, Iowa. She joined her two older brothers, Garry and Ardys, to make their family complete. Dianna was given the nickname Katy by her dad. She grew up learning and perfecting her wrestling skills from her brothers. She had many fond memories growing up with them. One of her fondest memories was being saved and later baptized at Rock Riffle with her parents and brothers. Calvin and Maxine instilled a firm foundation in Jesus Christ for their children. This foundation has been carried on from generation to generation.
She met John Johnson, and they were united in marriage on June 4, 1966. From this union three children were born: Angela Kay, John Calvin, and Penny Nichole. While attending Lineville Assembly of God Church, Dianna served as the Sunday School Secretary/Treasurer for years and had many occupations throughout her life. In the years that followed, she had the honor of becoming a grandma to her nine grandchildren. She also had the joy of being a great-grandma to seven great-grandchildren. She is fondly remembered by them all as Grandma Katy.
Dianna was well known for her homemade noodles, tacos, fish, and her love for sweets. She enjoyed good garage sales, flea markets, and clearance racks. She was always looking for a new treasure. Her most precious earthly treasures she leaves behind are her kids and grandkids. She loved them all fiercely and was so very proud of them.
Dianna is survived by her husband John, her oldest daughter Angela (Kurt) Koenck, son Johnny (Tammy) Johnson, and youngest daughter Penny (Josh) Klaiber. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ashley (Jacob) Williams, Andrew (Faith) Koenck, Amy (Lucas) Markey, Austin Johnson, Cody (Celesta) Johnson, Abigail Klaiber, Hannah Klaiber (fiance: Hunter Jones), Garrett Klaiber, and Wyatt Klaiber. Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandchildren: Colton, Easton, and Lily Williams, Eve Kay and Avery Markey, and Warren and Walter Koenck. She is also survived by her brother Garry (Viola) Nickell and her sister-in-law Wanda Nickell. She is preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Maxine Nickell, and her brother Ardys Nickell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lineville Assembly of God Church.
