Diane Karen (Edwards) Feldpausch, 80, aka Grammy, left this world suddenly on Monday, October 21, 2025.
Diane was born on October 30, 1944, in Mallard, Iowa to the late Vernon "Russell" Edwards and Lydia Marie (Wirtz) Edwards, as the 7th of their 9 children.
She was a kind and caring human, an animal lover, a lifelong Lutheran, an advocate for social justice, and was always eager to help others however possible.
Her life took her from Iowa, to Texas, to California, and finally to Kentucky in 1967, before settling in Louisville in the late 1980s. She loved this city so much that even as a UK basketball fan, she eventually cheered for UofL, too! Above all, her favorite thing in life was her family, especially when she became a Grammy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Marvin and Gary Edwards, sisters Sandy Martin and Donna Nims, and her youngest daughter Jennifer Diane Feldpausch. She is survived by her son Dan Sweeney, daughter Karen Sweeney, grandchildren Kamyren (Tanner) Cole, Taylor (Stephanie Akers) Jesse, Alex Sweeney, Sierra Sweeney, David (Aubryona Ramey) Young, Violet Young, and by her most precious Great-Granddaughter, Juniper Mae Cole.
Also surviving her are her sisters Nancy Finnegan, Janet Webster, and Susan (Ron) Carstensen, her brother Dale Edwards, her longtime best friend Dottie Gist, Alex and Sierra's mom Jennifer Davis, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her funeral services will be at Stoess Funeral Home (6534 W State Hwy 22, Crestwood, KY 40014) on Monday, October 27, 2025; with visitation at 12 noon followed by her funeral at 2pm, and internment at Floydsburg Cemetery (5600 Old Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood, KY 40014) right next to her daughter, Jen.
In her memory, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association to help continue their work toward ending Alzheimers and Dementia. Alz.org
In the words of her eldest sister, Nancy Finnegan, "Her loss is so great because the love was so great".
