Dianne Hicks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James Funeral Home on Aug. 1, 2024.
Dianne Marie Hicks, 79, of Cornelius died August 1, 2024. She was born on October 21, 1944 in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Henry and Ruth Bridgers.
Dianne was the loving wife for 54 years to Tommy Hicks. She will be sorely missed by her daughters, Audrey and Rebecca. She retired as a construction company project manager and then moved on to her favorite hobby of showing dogs. She recently joined SouthLake Church and was active in one of the ladies Bible studies. Since living in Huntersville, she was able to enjoy spending more time with her grandsons, especially watching their sporting events.
Survivors include her daughters, Audrey Belvin and husband Jed of Huntersville and Rebecca Metcalf and husband Rob of Wellford, SC; and grandsons, Colin and his wife Hannah, and Josh.
Her husband Tommy preceded her in death.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, August 6 at James Funeral Home with Rev. Dan King officiating. Visitation will follow.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.

Dianne is the mother of my sweet daughter-in-law and I will always remember the fun times we shared. We would always share Mother“s Day with our children so no one would miss being with their mom on that special day. We also shared a love for dogs and she even knitted a sweater for my yorkie. One time she challenged me to make a cake that was on the front cover of a magazine which was very intimidating. I presented it to her at Christmas and she could not believe I met her challenge. She was always a joy to be with and I will miss her very much. She was a wonderful mom and grandmotherand her daughters and grandchildren will feel a real void in their lives as well.
