Shirley Dianne Roberts Newton, age 77, passed away on December 12, 2024, in Biloxi, MS.
Dianne was born on April 10, 1947 in Chester, South Carolina to parents James and Avo Roberts. Dianne’s greatest joy in life was her family. Especially her grand and great grandchildren. She was happiest when she was rocking one of her babies. She is best described as “selfless.” Her family came first. No matter day or night, she was there if one of them needed her. Dianne loved to shop. She loved anything that sparkled. She would spend endless hours looking for the perfect gift. Therefore, she chose a career in retail. She could be seen at the fragrance counter at Gayfers and later at Fine Jewelry in McRae’s. She assisted so many young men with finding the perfect ring for their best girl. If you headed to the mall, you always stopped by to see Dianne. Dianne and Roy attended New Life Family Church. They both love Pastor Jeff and his wife, Terri, and all of their church family. When she became unable to attend church, she and Roy would watch every Sunday morning from their living room. Dianne loved JESUS!
She is survived by her husband, Roy “Rodney” Newton Jr.; Brother, Donald Roberts and two “sisters in love”, Barbara Barrileaux and Wanda Roberts; daughter, Sheila (Stevie) Bennett; son, Kevin Newton; grandchildren, Jessica Stein, Kyle Stein, Matthew (Danielle) Bennett, Kristen (Mike) Skripek, Dylan Lancaster and Brooke Vanover; great grandchildren, Karley, Kelsey, Brodie, Mikey, Mattie, Colbi and Noah.
She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces as well as her loving North Carolina family.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all who have shared support, prayers, friendship, and love. The family would also like to thank Saads Home Health, the care given by Malinda, Vicki, Tina, and Shannon has been greatly appreciated.
Services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:00am at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will immediately follow at the D’Iberville Memorial Park.
