Dianne Walker Sellers

Dianne Walker Sellers was the epitome of elegance. She was a daughter, wife, sister, aunt, friend, and educator.

Dianne grew up in Mebane, NC with her 3 brothers where they shared many memories. Dianne graduated with a degree in music from Wingate College/Appalachain State University and earned a Masters in Education from Wingate University. Dianne and Ken met in 1963 at Wingate College and married in 1969, prior to Ken serving his country in the Vietnam War. They celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage together. They shared a special connection and their love grew stronger each day. Dianne and Ken shared many adventures and enjoyed exploring the world together.

She was a nurturing, kind, and beautiful person. She dedicated her career to education beginning with sharing her love of music and later developing her skills towards Reading Recovery. She was devoted to her students. Dianne was also honored to serve the VFW Auxiliary Post 1920 as President. She was proud of the work they do in the community. Dianne enjoyed meeting new people and cared deeply for the friendships she developed over the years.

She loved her family and always made sure to show her love and support especially in special moments. Dianne is survived by her husband Kenneth Sellers; her twin brother Daniel Walker; niece Danielle Walker Spradlin (Will); great niece Grace Cantoni (Zach); great nephew William Spradlin; her younger brother David Walker(Julie); nephew Dave Walker; nephew Jordan Walker (Katie); great nieces Sally and Ellen; niece Marianna Walker; great nephew Chase and great niece Renni Kay; niece Caroline Whittington (Trevor); niece Lara Sellers; nephew Johnathan Sellers. She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin Walker (former Mayor of Mebane) and Marie Jordan; her youngest brother Doug Walker; and sister-in-law Charlotte Walker.

Dianne battled with cancer most of her adult life. She was strong in her fight and amazingly kept a positive outlook. She always focused on educating herself and others about this devastating disease and the treatment. Dianne lost her battle with cancer and passed on November 29, 2025. Dianne's presence and love will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Chapel at Twin Lakes Coble Creek Rehabilitation on January 23, 2026 at 2 pm. A reception will follow for family and friends to share their memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Duke Cancer Center or First Baptist Church of Mebane Building Fund.
