Dianne Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services on May 19, 2025.
Larry L. Wright, 79 and Dianne L. Wright, 75, of Jefferson, OH, passed on May 8th and May 15th, respectively. Larry passed at Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Dianne at Hillcrest Hospital.
Larry was born in Corry, PA to Glenn and Virginia (Jones) on July 31, 1945. Dianne was born in Ashtabula, OH to Arthur and Lillian Van Allen (Gordtney) on January 15, 1950.
They were married on June 11, 1988, in Ashtabula, OH.
Larry's career arc included being a barber, corrections officer, certified EMT, and working in manufacturing and industrial maintenance. Dianne spent her career in banking with several local institutions. She clearly didn't embezzle enough.
Having both been retired for several years, they enjoyed spending time with friends at Kenisee Grand River Campground in Geneva, OH. Site 11 on the "Beautiful Place" road, which they got away to for as many summer weekends as they could for 24 years, brought them incredible joy.
Golf carts don't have odometers, so we have no way to know how many miles they racked up going for rides and visiting friends at camp. Likewise, they enjoyed travel and cruising and seeing beautiful places while vacationing. Larry also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and general tinkering. Dianne enjoyed crafting, sewing, and general fussing about.
Larry was an active member of the Conneaut, OH Lions Club, having been club president on two occasions: first in 1975 then again in 1993. Dianne was active in the Ashtabula High School Alumni Association.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Rusty of Columbus, OH. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dirk of Bradenton, Florida.
Larry is survived by his brother, Craig (Columbus, OH), three children, Cheri (Gerry) of Corry, PA, Chad (Meredith) of Conneaut, OH, Misty (Tim) of Newberry, FL, grandchildren Aaron (Kelly), Jayden, Zachary, Tristan, Andrew (Tammy), Ryan (Heather), Rachel (Kristina), Alex (Brianna), Madison, Makayla, and Camdem, along with five great grandchildren. Dianne is survived by her brother Brian (Ashtabula), two children, Ryan, of Ashtabula, OH, and Chad (Barb), of Euclid, OH, and granddaughter Juniper.
Family and guests will be received from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, May 24th, at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services located at 1500 Harpersfield Rd., Geneva, OH 44041. Interment will be on a later date and private.
The family requests that flowers not be sent. Instead, please donate to the Conneaut Lions Club in honor of Larry. In honor of Dianne, please donate to either the Ashtabula Arts Center, or the Ashtabula County APL.
