Dick Webber Hall passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday November 16th, 2025, after several years battling Alzheimer Disease. Dick was able to stay in his home the entire time due to the loving care of his daughters, Rose and Ruby. He was 91 years old.
Dick was born on July 22nd, 1934, in Denver, Colorado. He was one of three children born to Arthur Webber Hall and Ruby Alberta Browning Hall. The family moved to Boise while Dick was still a child. He attended Garfield Elementary School and Boise High School. He was a paperboy and played baseball and football for Boise High.
At 17 years old, Dick joined the Air Force. He became an Airplane Mechanic. He served his country in Korea and Vietnam. Dick was able to take his family with him while he was stationed in Germany for five years. After 21 years of service Dick retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In 1974, after retirement from the Air Force, Dick moved back to Boise with his three children. He worked as a heavy machinery mechanic for John Deere and then Western Equipment. In the early eighties, Dick went back to school and received his associate degree in Electronics. He worked for Aero Accessory repairing airplane components before retiring for good.
Dick LOVED bowling. He always bowled on more than one team each season. Dick was a master bowler. Dick was able to share his love of bowling with his children. He became a coach for the junior bowling leagues. Weekends would be full of bowling and tournaments. Dick loved to brag about his son, Richard, who is a great bowler in his own right. Even after Dick had to give up bowling himself, he would go watch Richard bowl. Bowling trophies still decorate the bookcases.
Dick also loved football. In his last years he would spend many evenings and weekends watching football with his daughters. BSU games were a favorite. Dick was a big BSU fan and liked to remember buying season tickets in the past. Dick was so proud of his grandson, Arri, when he played football in junior high school. Dick never missed and game. He would show up with his stadium chair and cheer the loudest.
Dick was so proud to be a Shriner. He was a member of the Director Staff at El Korah Temple. During his many years of being a Shriner, Dick enjoyed being in the parades, riding the firetruck and selling programs at the Shrine Circus. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were all happy recipients of Shrine Circus Tickets. We could always find Grandpa shouting "Programs, get your programs!" in the crowd. Dick took his work with the Shriner hospitals seriously through visiting the children's hospitals and fundraising. He would tell his daughter, Ruby, about these visits and how important they were to him.
Dick's greatest love was for his family. He will be deeply missed. Dick attended all the birthdays, holidays, and school functions he knew about. Dick was the happiest when he could spend time with his family. He always wanted to give his grandkids treats and always had a supply of cookies and candy on hand.
Dick is survived by his brother, David, his three children, Richard, Rose and Ruby, his three grandchildren, Christopher, Amber and Arri, his nine great grandchildren, Alexis, Ashley, Tascidy, Justice, Jaydn, Justice, Preston and Christopher, and his two great great grandchildren, Christopher and Lucian.
A Celebration of Life for Dick will be held on Monday, December 15th, 2025, at Summer's Funeral Home. The service will begin at 12:00pm. Afterwards we will travel to the Veterans Cemetery for Dick's full military honors.
