Dina L. Brewington

Dina Lee Brewington, age 83, met her lord and savior, Jesus Christ on All Saint's Day, November 1, 2025.
Dina was born in Miami Florida to performing artists Matilda Lillian Poorman, (nee Massold) and George Michael Poorman, in 1942. WWII disrupted the entertainment district directly on the coast causing many performers to leave and find employment elsewhere and so the young family moved to Baltimore in 1944. Dina graduated from Eastern High School in 1960 with honors and received a full scholarship to the Maryland Institute College of Art for her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Fine Arts and specifically Oil Painting. She went on to receive a teaching degree from Loyola College and a graduate degree from West Virginia University in Special Education. She taught children in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, West Virginia, Baltimore County, California and Nevada. Retirement brought her back to York County, Pennsylvania to be closer to family. Dina continued to paint throughout her life and amassed a huge collection which is being curated for a future showing in Ruxton,
Maryland.
She is survived by her son, Ian Kendall (Maricha) of Hanover, PA, Twila Taylor (Jeremy), of Arizona, predeceased by sons Marc Brewington and Nathan Brewington, and is survived by brother Michael Poorman (Nancy), sisters Lorraine Goethaels (Jean Pierre), all of Red Lion, PA,Julieanna Wittelsberger (Raymond) of Towson, Maryland, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Earlier marriages to David Kendall and Allen Brewington ended in divorce.
Services and interment will be private.
