Dixie Burns Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bonney Watson Funeral Home - Federal Way on Feb. 20, 2026.
Dixie D. Burns, born January 28, 1936, was a longtime resident of Federal Way and passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at the age of 90.

Dixie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful member of her church community. She volunteered for many years at her church and found great joy in serving others. She dearly loved her animals and had a generous and nurturing spirit, fostering 23 children over the course of her life. Her kindness, patience, and steady guidance touched many hearts and made a lasting impact.

She is survived by her four children: Deena Carpenter of Apache Junction, Arizona; Randy Burns of Federal Way, Washington; Rocky Burns of Federal Way, Washington; and Donette Smart of Federal Way, Washington. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy to her.

Dixie will be remembered for her strength, compassion, unwavering faith, and the deep love she shared with family and friends. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she cared for and influenced.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, 1 PM at Northwest Church, 34800 21st Ave SW, Federal Way, WA 98023. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate her life.
