Dixie Lynn Fulford, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and dedicated finance manager, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the age of 43. She was born on Friday, October 3, 1980, in Natchez, Mississippi, and later resided in Ville Platte, Louisiana.
She was a vibrant soul who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep passion for the holiday season and cherished the celebration of Christmas with unwavering enthusiasm. Her eyes would sparkle brighter than any Christmas light as she shared the festivities with her loved ones.
Dixie possessed a creative spirit. She indulged in various crafts and dedicated her time to crafting personalized t-shirts and vinyl stickers. Her love for crafting was only surpassed by her love for spending time with her family. Dixie wholeheartedly embraced her role as a mother, treasuring each moment spent with her children.
Dixie's professional journey was marked by dedication and growth. For 20 years, she contributed her expertise to Southland Finance Company, where she climbed the corporate ladder, ultimately achieving the position of Manager at her location. Her commitment and exemplary work ethic left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the finance industry.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Christopher Everette Hodge, Jr. and fiancé, Morgan Simpson, Kirstie Hodge, and Katelyn Bourque and companion, Ashton Marks all of Ville Platte; her brothers, Russell Dean Fulford, Jr. of Washington, LA, and Chris “Boo” Fulford and wife, Bethany of Ville Platte; and her mother, Wanda Sylvester and husband, Steve. Also left to cherish Dixie are her nieces, Gracie Fulford and Nina Fulford and nephew, Maxwell Fulford.
Dixie is proceeded in death by her father, Russell Fulford, Sr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
