A Mass and Christian Burial for Dixie Crissinger, 66, of Sherburn, MN, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 901 South Prairie Avenue in Fairmont, MN. Burial will be following the service in Calvary Cemetery in Fairmont, MN.
Visitation will be Monday, March 10, 2025 at Kramer Family Funeral Home Sherburn Chapel from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the time of service at the church.
Dixie passed away Monday evening, March 3, 2025, Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Mary's Campus Rochester, MN. The Kramer Family Funeral Home of Trimont, Sherburn, and Welcome, MN, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Dixie Diana Lee Salic was born on July 30, 1958 to Ernest Sr. and Phyllis (Venora) Salic in Fairmont, Minnesota. Dixie's early years were filled with the warmth of a large family. She carried the spirit of family with her throughout her life. Dixie attended Granada-Huntley High School and later graduated from there with the class of 1977. On September 24, 1977 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Crissinger at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winnebago, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Fairmont where Dixie was employed. In 1981 they later moved to Sherburn, Minnesota to live and raise their family. Dixie was employed at various jobs in the Sherburn area. Along with her husband Ken, they were caretakers of Everett Park on Fox Lake for several years. Dixie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations to come. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, crocheting and cooking anything the grandkids asked for.
Dixie is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Crissinger of Sherburn, Minnesota; her children, daughter, Katie Salic of Calion, Arkansas, son, Kenneth Crissinger Jr. and Wenetta of Fairmont, Minnesota, son, Calvin Crissinger and Rebekah of Albert Lea, Minnesota; 10- grandchildren, Tristian, Wyatt and Levi Salic, Nathaniel, Deonna, Marshall and Autumn Crissinger, Christopher, Lillian and Ethan Crissinger; 3-great-grandchildren, Kaisey, Korey and Dawson Crissinger; Dixie's siblings, Claudine (Dale) Meckes of Blue Earth, Ernie (Gin) Salic of rural Truman, Lawrence (Nancy) Salic of rural Truman, Bonita (Leo) Pezzi of Warrenton Virginia, Michael (Pat) Salic of Winnebago, Lucinda (Ron) Winch of Fairfax, Minnesota, Vicki Patten of Algona, Iowa; Pete (Karen) Salic Goodell, Iowa, Bing Salic of Winnebago; Gloria Salic of Fairmont, Trina (Troy) McDonald of Chatfield, Alicia (Bruce) Leeck of Stratford, Iowa; nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Mark Crissinger of Mankato, Minnesota, sister-in-law, Carol (Tony) Zender of Sherburn, brother-in-law, Michael (Brenda) Crissinger of Morristown, Minnesota and other relatives and friends.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Sr. and Phyllis Salic; sister-in-law, Deb Salic; brother-in-law, Dan Patten; a niece and nephew; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Dottie Crissinger and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given in Dixie's name to American Cancer Society.
