Obituary published on Legacy.com by Royer Funeral Home - Grain Valley on Dec. 16, 2025.
Dixie Dee Llewellyn, 82, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away, November 16 th, 2025, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories for all who knew her. Dixie entered the world in the warmth of her family home in Kansas City, Missouri, the beloved daughter of Ellis Dean and Zelma L. Rhoads.

Dixie was raised by her parents, who taught her values including kindness, perseverance, and generosity. She attended Yeager Grade School and graduated from East High School in 1961. During high school, she met the love of her life, Terry Lynn Llewellyn. They married on October 14, 1961, and had four children: Dayna Lynn, Julie Ann, Michael Dean, and Lori Michelle.

Dixie will be remembered for her gentle heart, her unwavering support for those she loved, and her ability to bring warmth and laughter into every room she entered. Her strength and compassion were evident in all she did, touching the lives of friends, family, and neighbors alike.

Dixie was an accomplished business owner and also served in various roles within the banking industry. In her later years, she worked at Cub Care Pre School in the Blue Springs, Missouri School District, where she loved working with the children and getting to know the parents and families. Dixie enjoyed sewing, working in her flower gardens, thrift shopping, especially at Red Racks and finding treasures on Temu.

As we mourn the loss of Dixie, we also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the indelible mark she left on those fortunate enough to have known her. She deeply loved her family and developed strong relationships with her children and grandchildren. Though she is gone, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness and love.

Dixie is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Dean and Zelma L. Rhoads; her husband, Terry Lynn Llewelyn; her daughter, Julie Ann Kephart; her son, Michael Dean Llewellyn; and brother-in-law, Bill L. Johnson.

Her survivors include 2 daughters, Dayna Wrisinger (Craig) of Oak Grove, MO, and Lori Byl (David) of Pleasant Hill, MO; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Bonnie Johnson.
