Dixie L. Lund, born on May 22, 1939, passed away peacefully surrounded by her adoring family on October 28, 2025. Dixie is lovingly remembered by her devoted daughters, Chrissy (Bucky) Phillips, Lisa (Bob) Cook, and Vickie (Dan) Budde. She was a proud grandmother to Paul (Ashley) Phillips, Erica (Jake) Duvick, Bobby (Katie) Cook, Janelle Corey, Lauren (Jake) Dupes, Allison (Nick Seifert) Budde, and DJ (Calli) Budde. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Ethan and Owen Duvick, Cassie Cook, Hunter, Gunner, and Archie Dupes, and Luke Ackerson and her sister in law, Shirley Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father Irvin Johnson, the love of her life and high school sweetheart, husband David, and her brother Denny Johnson. Dixie was the epitome of generosity. Her open arms and warm hugs provided a safe haven for her family. Her life was a lesson in grace, humility, and the fierce love she had for her family. She had a remarkable ability to embrace different perspectives, teaching forgiveness and understanding with her wise words, "just because we think differently about something, it didn't make either opinion wrong." Her playful spirit and infectious laughter made every moment with her an adventure. Dixie's faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of her existence, and she instilled this love in her family, ensuring that they too knew the comfort and strength found in Him. She was truly a beautiful woman of God, both inside and out. Dixie's presence was a light that shone brightly in every room she entered. She had a knack for lifting spirits and spreading joy with her kind heart and quick wit. Her resilience was unparalleled; she faced life's challenges with admirable poise and determination, silently weathering storms and rising triumphantly in the face of adversity. As a mother, Dixie was unparalleled. Her children describe her as fun, funny, loving, a Christian, sassy, and charming. She was "imperfectly perfect," with a unique charm that drew people to her. Dixie L. Lund was an amazing person, not because she was perfect, but because she embodied what it means to live a life of love and kindness. Her memory will live on as a guiding light for her family, a reminder of the strength and grace that can be found in the human spirit. Though she will be greatly missed, her family takes solace in knowing that she is now at home with Jesus, shining brighter than ever before. Memorials may be made in Dixie's name to the First Baptist Church of Morris.
