Kevin Douglas “DJ” Lyons, 21, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, went to be with Jesus and his beloved Papaw on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Jonesborough, DJ was born on January 28, 2004. He graduated from Daniel Boone High School in 2022. From an early age, DJ shared an inseparable bond with his younger brother, Tristun; the two grew up side by side, doing everything together and creating memories that will be forever cherished.
DJ deeply loved his family and shared an especially close bond with his momma- DJ was the desire of her heart. He was incredibly intelligent, curious, and thoughtful, always enjoying a good debate and meaningful conversation. DJ loved learning from others and exchanging ideas, finding joy in gaining knowledge and understanding different perspectives.
He was preceded in death by his special Pappy, Bobby Gross, Sr., who is waiting to welcome him in Heaven; his paternal grandfather, Armondo Enriquez; and his great-grandmother, Anna Lee Gross.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Misty Gross and Douglass Enriquez; his brother, Tristun Lyons; special aunts, Dawn Gross Barbara Coco Lisa Enriquez; and Missy Lovelady, uncles, Billy (Lynnette) Gross, Bobby (Kelly) Gross, Jr.Brian Welch, a Paul Enriquez and; his paternal grandmother, “Grammy” Carol Enriquez; his maternal grandmother, Karen (Ronnie) Gross; special cousins, Josie Enriquez, Amir Enriquez-Morales, Cory (Carrie) Gross, Rachel (Sam) Williams, Kerra (Logan) and little Kohen Gross, Lily McClure, Samantha and TJ Torres, Donna, Danny, Melissa & Gracie Hobbs; his special girlfriend, Chloe Rusnak; numerous extended family members; and a few close friends.
DJ will be remembered for his intelligence, his love for family, his thoughtful spirit, and the deep impact he had on everyone who knew him.
DJ’s family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, with a funeral following at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations are directed to DJ’s family to help offset the cost of services. Donations may be made via the crowdfunding link on his obituary page.
