Dok Sik Pak, 76, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, surrounded by his family and cared for by the compassionate team at University Hospital, following a tragic pedestrian accident.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, he was the tenth of eleven children. He married Mi Ran Pak in 1979, and together they raised two children, Soo Mi and Hyun Wook. In 1988, the family immigrated to Colorado, where he and his wife worked tirelessly in many jobs—including janitorial work, dry cleaning, and shoe repair—to provide for their family. He retired a few years ago. In the last season of his life, he found special joy in spending time with his grandson, Taevin, and creating memories his family will always cherish.
Through life’s challenges, Dok Sik’s heart remained generous. He loved animals, feeding stray cats in his neighborhood and teaching his family compassion through his example. He loved music, especially oldies, and expressed himself through poetry about love and life’s quiet moments. He celebrated his family through small but thoughtful gestures—flowers for his wife, birthday cakes and notes for his children, and remembering special days. His love was steady, patient, and expressed in ways uniquely his own.
He is survived by his wife, Mi Ran; his children, Soo Mi and Hyun Wook; and his grandson, Taevin. He was preceded in death by his mother Ah Ki Lee, and his siblings. His ashes will be laid to rest with his mother at Fairmount Cemetery, a place he visited often and held dear.
A memorial service will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring his life and saying goodbye.
