Dolan Mares, a beloved member of the Santa Fe community, passed away peacefully on the feast day of St. Francis, October 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 8, 1956, in Santa Fe, NM, Dolan’s life was one filled with warmth, laughter, and an unwavering faith.
Dolan proudly served the State of New Mexico, as a financial specialist. He retired with a wealth of experiences and cherished friendships. Those who had the privilege of knowing him often spoke of his genuine friendship and his well-liked personality. Dolan was an avid fan of the Raiders, Dodgers, and Lakers.
Dolan is survived by his loving brother, Daniel, and sister, Doris. along with many nieces, nephews, God-children, cousins, and very special friends. Dolan's memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of all who knew him.
Dolan's journey on earth concluded to be with The Lord. His faith was strengthened through his trials. His parents, Rose and Frank, and his brother Dennis, who have passed on, welcomed him with open arms, reunited in a place filled with peace and love.
As we reflect on Dolan Mares life, we remember a man who was a genuine friend, loving son and brother. His legacy of love, faith, and enthusiasm for life will remain in our hearts forever.
