Dollie F. Entrican (Furry), age 94 of Paris, Illinois passed away surrounded by her loving family at 4:14 P.M. on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 29, 2024 with Pastor Troy Horne officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Kansas, Illinois.
Dollie was born on Monday, January 27, 1930 in Paris, Illinois to Peter Alva and Fannie Ethel (Robinson) Furry. She married C. Olin Entrican on April 18, 1946 in Paris, Illinois. Together they raised their three children: William Randall Entrican, Dori Entrican – Allen and Doyle Entrican.
Dollie was a member of the Paris Otterbein Methodist Church. She loved her church and her church family.
Dollie was a caregiver who cared for several family members throughout her lifetime. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing and singing. She enjoyed crocheting, word search puzzles, spending time with her family and researching family history. She worked at TRW, Zenith, and Colson's before becoming a dedicated homemaker who was an excellent cook and baker. Her family especially enjoyed her homemade noodles, numerous pies, molasses cookies, gingerbread cookies, divinity, and monster cookies. She was a strong, loving, sweet and gracious soul. She loved every one of her animals as if they were her family.
She is survived by her son, William Randall Entrican, her daughter, Dori Entrican – Allen (Steve), her daughter in law: Jeanie Entrican all of Paris; her five grandchildren: Amy (George) Perez of Terre Haute, Indiana, Kristi Opalesky of Arvada, Colorado, Cindy (Kevin) Koessler of Bloomington, Indiana, Jennifer Sumner of Montgomery, Illinois, Joshua Sumner of St. Charles, Illinois; her seven great grandchildren: Justin Miller, Colby Opalesky, Juliana Opalesky, Laurelle Kattie, Kelsey Sumner, Maya Bowman, and Emma Sumner, her sister in law, Thelda Pitts of Paris, Illinois and several nieces and nephews and her precious Pomeranian Angel.
Dollie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Olin, her son, Doyle, her brother, Earl "Jim" Furry, her sisters: Edith Irene Mehan, Dorothy Wilson McFarland and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Raj Jeevan, Davita North of Terre Haute, Indiana, Fresenius Kidney Care of Terre Haute, Indiana and The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions can be made to Edgar County Humane Society in Dollie's name.
