Dolly Mae Mullis Howard, 73, of Albemarle, passed away at 11:20 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Atrium Health Stanly Hospital holding hands with her daughter-nieces, Denise Garrett Burleson and Renée Garrett.
Dolly was born November 16, 1949, in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Otto Lane Mullis and the late Virgie Deese Mullis.
She was also preceded in death by siblings, Bernice Almond, Nell Thompson, Barbara Garrett, Kendall Mullis, Don Mullis, Landon Mullis, and Mac Mullis.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Gary Cox. Burial will immediately follow at the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 22182 Canton Rd., Albemarle.
Survivors include many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dolly enjoyed music, coloring, eating pizza, and reading her Bible for hours on end.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
