December 21, 1928 - September 15, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dolly Arthella Hunt of Aloha, Oregon. Dolly passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024, with her family at her side.
A lifelong Oregonian, Dolly's life began on the family farm near Mt. Angel where she was the 10th of 11 children. Growing up during the Great Depression, Dolly learned how to make the most of everything. Sharing, and taking care of others was baked into her from day one.
Dolly married the love of her life, Kenneth, in 1948. They were inseparable for more than 63-years until Ken's death in 2011. Together, they raised four children, Linda, Larry, Kent, and Judy. In time, Dolly welcomed a dozen grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren, with one on the way! To say that her family was her pride and joy is an understatement. Dolly loved her family, cared for her neighbors, and gave to her community generously.
The only thing Dolly placed ahead of her family, friends, and community, was her devotion to her Catholic faith. She was a longstanding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Aloha where she had served in the Guild, read scripture during Mass, and delivered communion to the homebound. Even in her final hours, Dolly simply would not rest until her Priest visited and prayed with her.
Dolly is preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings, and her husband, Kenneth. She is survived by her four children, Linda Welch of Vernonia, Larry Hunt of Hillsboro, Kent Hunt of Hillsboro, and Judy McLennan of Sandy. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Aloha, Oregon at 11:00 AM (Rosary at 10:30 AM).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
