Dolly Mizer Obituary
Dolly Dee Mizer, age 77, of Strasburg passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 31, 1945, in Nashville, Tennessee she was a daughter of the late Robert and Pauline (Crowson) Erwin.
Dolly worked for many years at CMA in Bolivar, where she retired after 28 years.
On September 4, 1965 she married Paul Mizer. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker for her family. She was always known as a loving and caring wife and mother.
She was a longtime member of Word of Faith Christian Center in Dover. She loved doing things for people and giving of herself to those in need.
Dolly is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Robert P. (Kathy) Mizer of Bolivar, and Sharon D. (Scott) West of St. Mary’s, West Virginia; grandchildren, Kody (Aeryka) Mizer, Kyle (Riley) Mizer, Wesley (Zach) West, and Kara West (Beau); great-grandchildren, Raeleigh and Koen; Twin sister, Polly Manis; nephew, Jimmy (Jan) Meyers; niece, Angela (Keith) McKinney; brothers-in-law, Dennis Mizer, Larry (Kathy) Mizer, Dean Mizer, and Albert (Gail) Quivey; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, JoAnn Quivey; brother-in-law, Willard “Shorty” Manis; and nephew, Michael Meyers.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory in New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 PM in the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank Crossroads Hospice and staff for their excellent care.
