Dolores I. Barnes, 85, of Arlington, peacefully passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026. She was born March 17, 1940, in Fremont, to the late Clayton and June (Flynn) Ohm. Dolores married Robert L. Barnes, August 30, 1957, and he preceded her in death May 15, 2008. She is survived by her children, Dan (Sheri) Barnes, Anita (Garret) Lafferty, both of Arlington and Julie Ernest of Bluffton. Dolores is also survived by seven grandchildren, Carson Barnes, Chase Barnes, Kelsey Stoner, Olivia Macke, Ryland Ernest, Adelyn Lafferty and Caden Lafferty and six great-grandchildren, Kenna and McCoy Stoner, Bentley, Beckett, Brielle and Brynn Barnes.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Ohm and son-in-law, Rick Ernest.

Dolores attended Good Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington. Dolores dedicated her life to raising her children while creating a warm, welcoming home that became the neighborhood gathering place. She enjoyed working with materials and had an upholstery shop located at her residence. Her hands were always busy enjoying cooking, gardening, reading, sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed talking sports and was an avid Notre Dame fan. She was a beloved mother and cherished friend. The family thanks the nurses, doctors, and the hospice center at BVH for their gentle and expert care.

A memorial service for Dolores will be at noon Monday, March 16, 2026, at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Monday until time of service. Pastor Steve Ramsey will officiate. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
