DOLORES “DOE” B. PENDLETON, 92, widow of Joe Clinton Pendleton, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Anchor Post Acute Care.
A native of Coeburn, VA, Doe was a daughter of Fonso and Edith Powers Bentley. She and Joe moved to Aiken in 1953 and became active in the community. She retired as the church secretary at Millbrook Baptist Church. Doe enjoyed golf and was a longtime member of the old Highland Park Country Club. She was also an avid card player.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie Morris (Allen), Springhill, FL, Cathy Coffey (Martin), Aiken, SC; her son, Michael Kyle Pendleton, Charleston, SC; grandchildren, James Clinton Morris, Jessica Morris Germain (Travis), Gregory Kyle Coffey (Amber), Aaron Joseph Coffey (Anna Kate), Tyler Michael Pendleton; great-grandchildren, Jackson Morris, Hal, Philip and Mary Mills Coffey. In addition to her parents, husband of 67 years, Doe was preceded in death by her three siblings.
The family will receive friends Monday morning, June 12th beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 o’clock. Private interment will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Millbrook Baptist Church’s Building Fund, 223 South Aiken Blvd., Aiken, SC 29803.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Anchor Post Acute Care and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their professional and caring service.
