Dolores A. Lynch, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Applewood Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, NH.
She was born on September 23, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, daughter to Chester and Jean (Olszewski) Mikolaski.
Dolores began drawing and painting at an early age. She graduated from Prospect Heights High School in 1952 as an honors art student. Following her high school years, Dolores went to work for a national sewing pattern company while studying art at the Pratt Institute. After her marriage to John Joseph Lynch in 1958, she continued her employment until the birth of her second child. Dolores then focused on raising a family, never giving up her passion for sketching, painting, and sewing. As the children grew older, Dolores returned to work, eventually retiring from the Social Security Administration after she and John moved to Watertown, CT. They moved again to NH, to be closer to their daughter and her family.
Dolores loved to cook for family and friends. She shared her interest in art with her children and grandchildren. During her NYC days she often visited art museums, galleries, and community art shows. She loved to take her grandchildren swimming and treat them to ice cream cones. There was always a cat in Dolores’ household, and occasionally a dog.
Dolores was predeceased by her husband, John, her brother Richard Mikolaski, and her son, John Justin Lynch.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Parshall and her husband Lucius, two grandchildren, William and Elizabeth, many loving nieces and nephews, and friends from the Flatbush Unitarian Universalist Church.
Services will be private.
