September 15, 1938 – September 23, 2025 Dolores E. Silva, 87, of Aurora, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 15, 1938, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, the daughter of Benito Esquivel and Hortencia Ramirez. On April 26, 1957, Dolores was united in marriage to the late Juan Manuel Silva, Sr. Together they shared 39 wonderful years, building a home filled with love, faith, and family. Guided by her strong faith, Dolores raised her family with the values of love, devotion, and unity. She lived as an example of God's mission, and through her strength and grace, she became the heart of the family. Known affectionately as Doña Dolores, she was a longtime member of New Song Community Church in Aurora (formerly San Pablo Church). Family was at the very heart of Dolores' life. She truly adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-her greatest joy came from simply being in their presence. Her face would light up when the little ones filled the room, and she thrived on the laughter, energy, and love of her family. She poured her heart into making every holiday and gathering special, creating treasured traditions that will be passed down for generations. Dolores found joy in the simple yet meaningful things in life: cooking for her family, creating personalized pumpkins, nativity sets, and ornaments that became cherished keepsakes. She had a passion for gardening and loved reading romantic novels. In her later years, she especially enjoyed Hallmark movies, always with popcorn and a sweet treat in hand. She is survived by her four children: Mary Jane Rodriguez, Juan Manuel Silva Jr. (Luz), Judy Salazar (Elias), and Edward Silva (Dora); 15 grandchildren: Amy Navar (Andy), Amber Hooper (Mike), Adriana "Woody" Navar, Francisco Orozco, Jaime Flores, Eddie Silva Jr (Kati), Andrew Orozco (Adrianna), Jesse Rodriguez (Alyssa), Ryann Zapata (Angel), Alex Rodriguez (Nallely), Allyson Fragoso (Samuel), Marisa, Lori, Johnnie and Christy Silva; 18 great-grandchildren: Mikey & Ethan Hooper, Yuvia & Lily Castellanos, Gabriella Tews, Jayden Gamble, A.J., Alyvia & Alexandria Orozco, Frankie Jr. & Keilani Orozco, Amelia & Alessia Zapata, Penelope & Ezekiel Silva, Jasper Wisniewski, Dominic & Aiden Rodriguez, and two great-grandchildren soon to be welcomed into the family. Those blessed to know Dolores will always remember her compassion, her unwavering commitment to family, and the warmth of her smile and laughter. She now joins in heaven her beloved husband, Juan Manuel, and her daughter, Cynthia Flores (Jose), who preceded her in death. May she find peace and everlasting love in the presence of our Lord. Her legacy of faith, love, and family will live on through all who were blessed to know her. Services: Visitation will be held at New Song Community Church in Aurora on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 3:00–8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at New Song Community Church on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow.
