She attended grade school at Dauby and high school at DePadua (Class of 1947). Dolores married Edward Suminski December 2, 1950. Dolores met Ed while waitressing at the Rocket Cafe in Ashland. Her young married years were spent as a housewife and devoted mother to her two sons, Larry and Mike. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Ashland and later Our Lady of the Lake. She enjoyed league bowling for many years at Monk's Bowling Lanes in Ashland. Dolores was thankful for her many friends she formed during her years of bowling. Monk Monroe depended on Dolores each year to decorate his bowling alley for the Christmas Holidays. She especially enjoyed doing that. She was always proud of her yearly holiday decorating creations. Dolores always loved to keep busy and decided to take up painting. She was motivated to teach herself to paint and watched Bob Ross on PBS regularly. A few years went by and she refined her painting skills and she was able to sell a few of the paintings she produced. After her family was grown, she worked as a cook at many establishments in the Ashland area including The East End Café, Economart Deli, The Steak Pit, and Elks Lodge. She was known for her famous soups at the Economart Deli. When Dolores finally retired, it gave her more time to spend in her garden. She loved her flowers and would plant many flower beds in her small yard plus a vegetable garden. In later years, she had to give up much of her yard work. Dolores was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. She enjoyed watching all the games on TV. Dolores loved listening to Elvis and was even able to make a trip to Graceland. Dolores absolutely enjoyed playing cards with her family. During visits with her, she would always ask "Do you want to have a game of cards"? Dolores will be sadly missed by her family.
