Dolson "Jimmy" Porter

Dolson J. "Jimmy" Porter, 57, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Dolson James was born on August 23, 1968, in Troy, the son of the late Charles and Barbara (Fulkrod) Porter. He attended Canton Area Schools and graduated with the Class of 1987, where he played football, wrestled and participated in the FFA.

Jimmy most recently worked hauling veal calves for Sechrist Farms. A true outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting and fishing and felt most at home in the woods and fields he knew so well. He was known for his kind heart and his willingness to help anyone in need.

Dolson is survived by his sisters, Charlotte Shedden, Judy Painter, and Nora Barnes as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings: Charles Porter, Christine Shedden, and Charlene Groover.

Services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
