Domingo Chia Villarreal Jr. 86 of Abilene passed away January 2, 2026 in Abilene, Funeral services will be held Friday January 9, 2026 at 11am at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-8pm with Rosary to begin at 6:30pm.
Domingo was born in Abilene, TX to Domingo Villarreal and Cresencia Chia on January 11, 1939. He attended Houston Elementary School located in the Barrio Sancudo. He married Maria Eva Villarreal on December 31, 1987. He served in the US Army Artillery Division and was stationed at Ft. Bliss.
Domingo worked with his father and siblings picking cotton at an early age. After serving in the army, he moved to Hayward, California where he worked in construction. He later owned his own business, Villarreal Bobcat Service. He loved spending his free time with friends drinking at the local cantinas. Domingo and Maria Eva moved to Abilene in 1998. He worked part time at O'Reilly's Auto Parts.
Domingo was one of the organizers of the Barrio Sancudo Reunion located at what is known as Reyes Flores Park. This was an event he looked forward to every year. Childhood friends and family who grew up in the then segregated area of Abilene located between North 2nd and North 7th along Bois D'arc and Cottonwood streets would gather each year to reminisce and partake in fellowship and music.
Domingo loved his cerveza and especially his bar. He was a regular at MC's Sports Bar.
Domingo was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Cresencia Villarreal, his step mother, Natividad Villarreal, his first wife Ann "AT" Villarreal, his daughter, Evangeline V. Tudor, his siblings, Josie V. Cisneros, Juanita V. Moreno, Pascual Villareal, Rudolfo "Opo" Villarreal, Nicolas Flores, Joe "Lupino" Flores, Pete Flores, Alfredo Flores, Jose Luis "Butchie" Flores, and Carmen Diaz.
Domingo is survived by his wife, Maria Eva; son, Ruben Villarreal (Lyndsey) of Virginia, sisters, Dolores McLamore (Harlan) of Abilene, Geneva Rodriquez (Albert) of Lubbock; grandsons, John Legran, Jordan Tudor, Jakob Tudor, of California, Jesse Villarreal of Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone who has extended their condolences and appreciates the prayers and kindness during this difficult time.
