Dominick Rosa Obituary
Dominick Rosa Jr. passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, September 6. He was 85 years old. Also known as "Junior", Dominick was the owner of Dom's Service Station (Rosa's Mini Mart) in Glenbrook for 68 years, making him the longest active small business owner in Stamford.
Dominick was predeceased by his cherished wife, Rose Marie, his daughter Lori Schutte and parents Dominick and Carrie Rosa of Stamford. He is survived by his devoted daughter Leigh Ann Capomolla of New Canaan, his two beloved sons Michael and wife Joanne Rosa of New Canaan, Dominick III and wife Michelle Rosa of Northborough, Massachusetts and son-in-law Keith Schutte of New Canaan. His brother John Rosa and his wife Carole of Ridgefield and sister Lucy McQuillan of Wellington, FL. Dominick proudly adored his 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. The Rosa family will receive friends at Hoyt Funeral Home on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 4-8pm. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Aloysius Church on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10am, with the entombment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. We fondly recall our time in Stamford, where we settled in 1984 on Hope Street, just a few houses down from Dom's place. Dom always welcomed us with such warmth, as if we were his closest friends. The Christmas spirit truly came alive when the trees arrived at Dom's. Although we left in 1999, our connection to the area persisted as we continued working there until our move to Charleston, SC in 2020.

My very first job was working for Dom at the gas station. I was 15 then and ended up working for him part time, for over 20 years. He was a wonderful mentor and friend and made a huge positive impact on my life. His memory will be eternal. Thank you Dom; rest in peace.

Anyone that lived in the Glenbrook/ Springdale area knew Doms´ gas station. Whether you called him Dom or Junior, you called him friend. This man was loved & respected by all who had the good fortune of knowing him. I´ve known Dom for many years as do many people. Always pleasant with a kind friendly word to all. A true gentleman who loved his wife & family immensely. I send my deepest condolences to his family & his many friends from the old neighborhood.
