Dominick Vetrano, 78, of
Graceville, Florida, passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Born April 24, 1947, in Neptune, New Jersey, Dominick-affectionately known as "Bunky"-was a proud graduate of Neptune High School. A gifted athlete, he swam for the Monmouth University Swim Team while studying business. His professional life reflected his dedication to service and community: he retired from the Monmouth County Reclamation Center. Also, he served with distinction in the Borough of Bradley Beach Police Department, State of New Jersey.
Dominick was predeceased by his beloved grandparents Rosa and Domenico Vetrano, Carmella and Carl Montrose; his parents Celia and Louis Vetrano; his aunts Helen "Dolly" Peluso and Mary "Muchel" Ballerino; his uncle's Anthony and Carl Montrose, Sam Vetrano, Joe "Little Toe" Vetrano of the "49ers," Paul Peluso, and Joe Ballerino; his brothers-in-law Salvatore Giresi and Fred Palumbo; and his granddaughter, Cece.
He is survived by his sisters, BettyAnne Palumbo of Ocean Township, NJ, and his twin sister, Cissie Giresi of Neptune, NJ. He leaves behind his lifelong companion, Darlyn Vetrano, and their children, Kristy Vetrano-Hancock and Louis Vetrano II. Dominick's legacy continues through his grandson Christian Hancock and granddaughters Elizabeth and Nicole Vetrano. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends who adored him and were blessed by his presence.
Dominick's passions were as vibrant as his personality. He had a gift for lighting up any room he entered, making everyone feel seen and valued. His love for entertaining was matched only by his talent for singing, which brought joy and laughter to countless family gatherings and community events. His voice and spirit will echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
In Florida, Dominick found fellowship at Damascus Church, where he shared his gifts of hospitality and faith. He delighted in preparing Italian meals with Darlyn, hosting friends, and contributing to Wednesday evening church dinners. His generosity and warmth extended far beyond his family, touching the lives of all who crossed his path.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Cousin Louis Carlson and his wife Michelle, whose care and devotion brought comfort and dignity to Dominick in his final years. Deep appreciation is also given to his aide Mary Kenny of Neptune, NJ, and to Renee Chenner, who went above and beyond her duties while accompanying Dominick during his travels with Amtrak. Their kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating.
