Don Barkley Obituary
Don Barkley was born on June 28, 1943 in Point, Louisiana, and passed away on August 9, 2024 in Monroe, Louisiana.
He dedicated his life to the service of his country and community. After 21 years of honorable service, he retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. Following his military career, he continued his commitment to public service as a deputy with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department, where he proudly served and later retired. His deep love for his family and his friends were the cornerstones of his life, leaving a legacy of dedication, sacrifice, and affection that will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Barkley; grandson, Joseph Ales II; mother, Evelyn Barkley; father, Ruffie Barkley; and brother, Prentice Barkley.
Don is survived by his son, Craig Barkley; daughters, Laura Siemens and her husband Kenneth, Pamela Burkett and her husband Tony, Ramona Ales and her husband Joesph; grandchildren Emily Featherstone, Erik Burkett, Elizabeth Collins, Ashley Bailes, Arlena Ales, Ja'Niaya Ales, Malaya Ales, Josiah Ales, Danny Siemens, Maxine Siemens, Alex Siemens, Savanna Prest; and 13 great-grandchildren; along with other cherished family and friends.
