Jane,

I´m in shock to have learned nearly three years late of Don´s passing. I always treasured my time with Don at the FTC and the two of you when you were in Falls Church. I was just hoping to reach out to say "hi" to Don when I found out. You have my condolences and best wishes.

Jane, David, I was stunned to read this obituary.
Don was an extraordinary individual who had great intellect as well as enormous wit.
I have fond memories of times spent with including attending Cleveland Indian baseball and Cleveland Browns football games with him. In addition to a wonderful bicycle ride with him from Falls Church to Washington, DC.
DON loved art shows such as the ones in Ann Arbor.
My deepest condolences to you both for your loss.
Cherish his memories and know that he is resting in Everlasting Eternal Peace.

Don is missed by many. Smartest guy in the room. Biggest heart in the world. Quickest humor. His legacy will live on for a very, very long time. My boys and me miss him often. RIP my friend. RIP.

Pati and I send our condolences. We appreciated Don's sense of humor and his respect for my parents, Mike and Dot. I remember my first visit at his family's house and my chasing down a bicycle that went missing from his garage. We always shared that story when we saw each other at family reunions. RIP. Our love , Marc and Pati

Don and I met while working on staffs in the US House of Representatives in the 1970s, and flew a lot of small aircraft together in the Congressional Flying Club. Best of all, we knew each others' buttons and laughed a lot together, until our sides hurt. RIP

Don, you will be missed by so many in the ICANN community. I will always remember your wicked sense of humor and your boundless generosity and kindness to everyone regardless of their level of knowledge or expertise. RIP.

Don never let the weight of responsibility diminish his sense of humor or his good naturedness. At the same time, you always knew there was a very sharp wit behind the smiling face.

I worked closely with Don both during his time at PIR and as a colleague on the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (I sat on his interview committee).

A good man, he will be missed by many of us in the security community.

I am thinking of Don and Jane and in my mind seeing them sitting together so close to each other, last year in the lobby of the big hotel in Atlanta. I instantly saw, admired and appreciated their visible affection for each other, and I could almost rewind this picture to all their past years together, instinctively realizing how their great affection for one another inspired their lives.

Don was a delight. With enthusiasm, grace and humor, he assisted FTC digital neophytes move more competently and bravely into the future. He left the world better than he found it. My condolences to his family.

This is truly sad news. Don was the definition of a good man. He was kind, generous, and had a great gift for empathy. He was a mentor to many and a friend to even more. I will miss him. My most sincere condolences to Jane.

I worked with Don for many years at the FTC, where he always had a bright smile and kind words for his colleagues. He was also very thoughtful. Upon learning my husband was an NFL rules geek, he gave me an official NFL Rule Book to take home. My condolences on your loss.
