With a heavy yet hope-filled heart, I extend my deepest condolences to you, Twila, and to Micah, Hannah, and Elizabeth, along with your entire family.
Mr. Don Johnson was not only my dear friend and former boss, but truly a brother in Christ. I witnessed firsthand his love, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serve and care for the less fortunate. Through him, many migrant families received hope, protection, and love-because he reflected the gaze of Christ so purely. His beautiful smile could light up any room, bringing cheer, peace, and a blessed assurance that with and through Christ, all things truly do work out.
Thank you for sharing this remarkable, God-filled man with so many of us. As I sat week by week in an office alongside him, it wasn´t always about work. Some of my most treasured moments were when he would look at me and say, "Grab your Bible." From there, conversations turned into discipleship, and discipleship into a friendship that continues to inspire and mold me even today. His life stirred in me a deeper yearning to walk like Christ, love like Christ, and serve like Christ.
Jesus poured out of his pores. He was genuine, humble, and priceless. Though he ran an organization and oversaw much, he never sought recognition. He led multitudes to Christ-many acts done quietly, in silence, never recorded on paper. Yet the Lord, who is omnipresent and sees all things, saw every seed he planted, every soul he touched, and every sacrifice he made.
His legacy is eternal. His impact cannot be measured. And his reward is sure.
May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and minds during this season of grief. May you feel the nearness of the Lord as you remember, mourn, and celebrate a life so well lived.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord."
- Matthew 25:21
