Donald "Don" Stormer, age 74, formerly of Battle Creek, MI passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. He received the American Legion Citizenship award in Elementary School and was in the marching band at Southwestern High School. After graduating, Don enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in Guam. He retired from the U.S. Navy and U.S. Department of Defense Logistic Services after many years of service. He also served at Great Lakes Navel in IL as a Court Bailiff, in Battle Creek as a Counselor, and at the United Gas Station where you may have seen his smiling face. After retirement, Don went to college and received his Counseling Degree. He volunteered at the Field of Flight Hot Air Balloon and Air show, assisting the photographers and the announcers, and at the Balloons Over Bavaria in Frankenmuth, MI. He was also on the A.L.U.R.T. Dive Team. Don was a very caring man and loved his family and his "Puppies". He and his son, Michael, would occasionally go fishing. Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Marie; daughter, Shawnee Koch; and brother, James Stormer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marrie Little-Stormer; children, Michael (Kandi) Stormer, Dawn Stormer; stepchildren, Cassandra (Timothy) Kelly, Carl (Mary) Bengtsson, and Jack Michael Bengtsson; grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, Eric, Noel (Dallas), Raven, Mikey, Maximus, James, Jalen, Jordan, Kayla, Collyn, Nicholas, Keith, Joseph, Madison, Cameron, Ciaran, Miles; great grandchildren, Stephen, Izzy, Logan, Semaj, Dax, Adelaide, Penelope, Sandraleen, Fiona; brother, Richard (Katherine Philo) Stormer; brother-in-law, Everette (Sylvania) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services to be held at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, August 6, at Fort Custer Recreation Area, 5163 Fort Custer Dr., Augusta, MI 49012-9618. Rev. Evan Heerema will officiate. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Don's name to the A.L.U.R.T. Dive Team in Calhoun County, MI.
