We were so sorry to hear of Don's passing. Being members of IHM church for so many years and having Christina a valued employee for some of those years, we want to express our sincere condolences for the loss of a wonderful man, who raised a wonderful daughter. Blessings to you all and happy memories! Fondly,

Steve, I know it's been a long time since we were in contact, but I was so saddened to hear of your father's recent death. I never met him, but you spoke of him so fondly that I know it is a great loss for you. My sympathy to you and your family.

Uncle Don was not only my uncle but my godfather too. No matter how often we spoke or emailed each other, even if a lot of time had passed, we just seemed to click. His energy, love, enthusiasm, guidance and quest for information on how, not only me, but how my wife and son were doing and what they were doing were huge for me. While we were not able to visit in person often enough, our visits with Uncle Don, Aunt Barb and the few times with Tina and Steven were a blast. Looking back how I wish we could have more those them. My father has great company in heaven. I can see the 2 of them raising a stink there. Gayle, Justin and my thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Barb, Tina, Steven and their families. He will be missed big time. Aunt Barb, all my love, Kevin

Dear Barbara, Steven, Tina and family - oh, how Don loves you! - I had the priveledge of knowing your wonderful man for many years, sharing much laughter, pain and tears. I will miss Don's friendship, mentorship and emotional support. I pray for you to feel no pain but peace, knowing that Don is where he no longer feels pain but still loves his family. Big hugs to each of you and the children, Rosi

Our deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Don. When I think of Don I think of the phrase “Una Famiglia”. He always made us feel welcome and part of his family, what a wonderful family to be part of. His love for all things Italian (especially food, mama mia), all things from Pittsburg and even red sports cars, could only be surpassed by his unyielding love for his family. I feel very blessed to be able to think of myself as part of the Abbott family, I know we think of the Abbott family as part of ours.
Don, you are no longer with us in body but you will ALWAYS be with us in our minds and hearts. You will be remembered as a great teacher, a teacher of life.

Don was not only my Brother, he was
my Best Friend. We talked about
everything and anything. He told me when I was wrong and he surely
corrected me on it, he was a SUPER

Mrs. Abbott, Tina, Steve and families,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Abbott (I still feel compelled to call my H.S. friends parents Mr. & Mrs.). I will always remember Mr. Abbott as a warm, funny man who always took time to talk to me- and more impressively remember what was going on in my life. My thoughts are with you all.
With sympathy, Tammy (Weiland) Dufeck

No words can ease the pain of a loved one's loss. Cherish the memories, smiles, great times and pictures that are left behind. Remember to keep looking forward and find peace in knowing that our precious Uncle Donny is no longer in pain. You know that he and my dad are probably enjoying an Iron City beer and laughing at all the Abbott Sunday afternoon gatherings. Place your thoughts, prayers and memories into God's hands and let them go free. We love you all and pray for your peace.

I understand how hard it is to lose a loved one. One thought that has helped me deal with the loss is to focus on the Bible. God has promised in the near future that all our loved ones that have passed away will be resurrected on to a paradise earth. We can believe it because God cannot lie. May the God of comfort be with you during your time of pain.

I am very saddened to hear of Don's passing. Twenty-plus years ago he was not only my first boss out of school, but he was like a second father to me. He taught me so much about people and life. Tools I still use every day. He was such a kind and gentle spirit with a wonderful sense of humor. Barb, Tina, Steve (& families) please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

I remember Don as one of the coolest Dads of my friends in high school, and as we've grown older, my opinion never changed. He was always quick to share joy and love, and a pleasure to be around. I will continue to enjoy the positive impact he had on earth through his family, who reflect his strength, love and joy of life.
