Donald R. Andrews, 88, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born in Meriden on November 26, 1937, Donald was the son of the late Richard and Jennie (Jakubisyn) Andrews. Donald was raised in Northford and spent much of his adult life there until after his retirement. Here he formed many lifelong friendships, volunteered for the Northford Fire Department Company #2 and was involved in many town sports. In 1965, he and his father built a log cabin on a lake in Fayette, Maine where he would summer every year and share this special place with family and friends. Maine held a very special place in his heart for he and his family. Donald worked for the SNET Company for 38 years, served in the US Army Reserves and was a member of the Northford V.F.W. and the Wallingford Elks Lodge. He is survived by his children, Aimee (Daniel) Colvin and Thomas (Kelly) Osborne, his sisters Barbara Baldwin and Cynthia (Mark) Abelli, four grandchildren, nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his sister Nancy (Bob) Donnelly.
The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue have been entrusted with the arrangements of his graveside service which will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00am at the Northford Cemetery on Spruce Street with a lunch reception to follow at Doody's Restaurant in North Branford.
