Donald E. Baker, 85, of Satanta, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Satanta District Hospital. He was born on June 17, 1940, in Garland, Texas, to Ruth (Anderson) and Frank A. Baker.

Don proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, beginning his service in 1959 and retiring in 1979 after twenty years of dedicated service. Following his military career, he worked at the Satanta Helium Plant for twenty years.

On April 15, 1983, he married Paula (Corn) in Sublette, Kansas, and shared a beautiful life together. They found joy in exploring the country, visiting every state in the continental United States and often camping in a tent along the way, a testament to their adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Danny Baker and wife Tonya of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Connie Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada; son-in-law, John Racer of Las Vegas, Nevada; stepchildren, Angela Hurston and husband Bobby of Muldrow, Oklahoma, and Darren Owings of Miami, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shannon Baker of Bakersfield, California, Donny Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Eddie Melesko of Las Vegas, Nevada; step-grandchildren, Albany McClure of Minco, Oklahoma, Kyle Owings and wife Morgan of El Reno, Oklahoma, Keisha Owings and Mitchell Merrill of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Donald McClure of Mustang, Oklahoma, Alexis McClure of Minco, Oklahoma, and Carley Cannon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Baker, Jr.; a daughter, Barbara Racer; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Owings; step-grandchildren, Sean Baker, Sabrina Baker, and infant Savannah Baker; and brothers, Frank, James, and Paul Baker.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Haskell County Cemetery. Cremation services are entrusted to Weeks Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Sublette, Kansas.
