Mr. Donald "Donny" Brown

Mr. Donald Earl Brown, affectionately known as "Donny", entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport, CT. He was the husband of Joann (Pitt) Brown. He was born March 20, 1958 in Bethel, NC, a son to the late Johnny Mack Brown and Dorothy (Sprueill) Bellinger, but he was lovingly and prayerfully raised (along with his twin brother Johnny) by his paternal grandparents Frank L. and Maebell (Rodgers) Brown. The family relocated to Danbury, CT when Donny was an infant. He was educated in the Danbury School system graduating from Danbury High School. Donny was extremely intelligent. He continued his education earning an Associate's Degree in Business at the University of Bridgeport. Donny had an infectious spirit and a great love for God, family, and friends. He had an impeccable fashion sense and a love for cars, especially luxury vehicles. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and was an avid salesman. Donny was a devout Christian who revered God and knew his Bible well. He was brought up in the church and was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church in Danbury where he was a part of the Williams Ensemble. Donny was an excellent self-taught musician, with a knack for playing bass guitar, keyboards, and drums. He loved his family, especially his children. Wherever he went, he made a memorable impression on others. Besides his wife of 14 years, Joann Brown, hee is also survived by his twin brother John (Sherry) Brown his children Adedus McNair of NC, Tyisha (Tim) Roberts-Greene of NC, Tashona Rae (Ben) Smith of WI, Aaron Lyons of CT, Dion Brown of FL, grandchildren Adedus Paige McNair, Nasir McNair, Tyree and Raquelle Lanier and Riyah Lynn Greene, all of NC, Wil, Rylan and Violet Smith of WI, great-grandchildren Chloe McNair and Journi Tyson of NC, his two stepmothers; Dorothy Smith and Joyce Brown, his siblings Melvin Spruill, Marilyn Spruill, Annette Braugher, Ralph Braugher, Andre King, Rhonda Brown, Deborah Newsome, and Gerald "Tony" Harrison, all of CT, Larry Harrison of WV, James Smith, Evelyn Wilson, and Theresa (Marc) Harrison Casborn all of MD, Jonathan Jones of CA, Rodney Brown of FL, and Pamela Brown of MD, uncles Willie Brown and Columbus Spruiell of CT, aunt Eva Clemmons of NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was predeceased by sister Jeanette Knox, seven uncles, one aunt.
