Donald E. “Duck” Buford, age 76 of the Bethesda Community passed away June 24, 2025. A lifelong resident of Williamson County, Donald was born July 29, 1948 to the late Alvin and Francis Buford. Considered by his friends and family a simple, hardworking country boy, Duck will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Duck worked for Jack Poteete Construction for 30+ years and then with Josh Johnson at Southern Utilities. Outside of work he had a passion for many things; farming, gardening and being a Cattleman. Along with his good friend Ronnie Maupin, they had won many trophies competing in Field Trials with their bird dogs. He loved cheering on the Tennessee Vols and taking trips to Tunica to play Wheel of Fortune slots.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (Robbie) Allen, Sherry Buford and Dottie (Evinn) Smith; son Tyler Stamps; grandchildren, Christopher (Brittlyn) Allen, William (Samantha) Allen, Spencer McClure and Bobbie McClure; great grandchildren, Bradley Knox Allen, Hudson Gray Allen, Remi LeeAnn Allen, Kyler Ray Osan, River Jane Monroe Allen, Riggs Emmette Michael Allen, Rhettyn Hazel Marie Allen and Dustin James Walter Yates; sisters, Diane Norman and Judy Beard; sister in-law, Donna Buford; uncles, William Harper and Jean Harper. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Janice Buford; brother, Clifton Buford and sister, Nancy Sullivan.
Funeral services will be held 3:00PM Monday, June 30, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home, Josh Johnson to officiate. Visitation with the Buford family will be 4-8:00PM Sunday and two hours prior to the service Monday. Burial will follow at Swanson Cemetery. Dalton Johnson, Josh Johnson, Craig “Dude” Rowland, CJ Punkin Buford, Alan Giles, Troy Maupin, Christopher Allen, and Steven McKinnon will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Donny Mosses, Sue Connor, Bunkin Tomlin, Rudder Harper, David Giles, Billy Buford, Jodie Spears, Jackie Glenn, Miguel Sunun, Momma Jenny, and Billy Rice.
