Elaine and Shannon,
I am so sorry to hear about Don's passing. Carol called to tell me that he was not doing well. I have so many good memories of working with Don at Microelectrodes. Although it is does not help the sadness and longing to just be able to talk to him again, Don is now in heaven with those family members who went before him watching over you and waiting for the time when he will see you again. My thoughts and Bill's are with you.

Words cannot express the great loss we are all feeling right now. Our sympathy to all of Don's family. Elaine, you lost your soul mate and best friend. How can anyone make that feel better? Only the passing of time will make it more tolerable. Shannon, your Dad loved you so much.He always wanted to make sure you were taken care of and were happy. He was so proud of his daughter! Sophia, it's so sad you will never know what a great man your GrandDad was. I'm sure you'll hear many stories. He said how much he loved holding you and having you place your head by his neck. He said " Sophia is the most beautiful baby. She is just so perfect". He, of course, had to put pictures on his computer at work to show us just how beautiful you were, and he was so right!
Rick, it was clear to us you were his favorite sibling. You both look so much alike. You probably didn't know this, but Don had a picture of you in his office. He shared many childhood stories with us about "Me and my brother Rick.." Uncle Harold's artificial legs standing in the corner, the outhouse races, and many more.
Yes, we will miss "Superman".
He was our mentor and our surrogate father.
We love you Don! Now I guess you know if I was right or if you were right. I guess I'll have to wait for the answer!
