Donald Jack Compton went home to our Lord on March 31, 2025. He was born on March 31, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lucian and Olive Compton. Mr. Compton is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anna (Bridges) Compton, son David Charles, daughter Jackie (David), grandchildren Jessica, Casey Ann, Charlee, CodyAnn, Marshall, Carly, Cassidy and great grandchildren, Logan, Cailee, Chloe, Colton, Clover and Aven and brothers Eddie and Lester (Ruthie) and many nieces and nephews and family in Eastern Kentucky.
Mr. Compton established his current business, Don Compton Roofing and Siding in 1968. He joined the Ohio Army National Guard as a young man, serving for 42 years, and retired at the rank of Sergeant Major. Throughout his life he was known as a hard worker and a generous man, helping many people from all walks of life. His greatest love was his wife Anna and their family as well as his extended family which he was proud to embrace.
Family will receive friends Thursday April 3, from 5-7:30 pm at SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOMES 4341 N High St. Cols 43214 where funeral service will be held Friday, April 4 at 12:30 pm. Internment Union Cemetery with Military Honors.
