Donald L. Conners, 85, of Breitung Township, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. Don was born on November 22, 1939, in Detroit, MI, son of the late Leigh and Lorena (Bobish) Conners. After graduating from high school in Warren, MI, Class of 1957, he served in the U.S. Army and earned an engineering degree from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI. On December 31, 1962, he married Janet Morgan in Topinabee, MI. He first worked in the auto industry as a machinery designer and then started his own construction company in Topinabee where he built homes for several years. Eventually he took a position with Verstand Engineering in Traverse City, MI, as a mechanical engineer, retiring in July of 1997 after 20 years. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, league bowling in Crystal Falls and woodworking. He was a member of the Crystal Falls Lions Club and the American Legion Post 145 in Norway. Don is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Michael Conners, Annette (Rick) Blahnik, Randall (Rika) Conners, and Paul Conners (Annie Ray); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Conners; a brother, Terry Conners; and a sister, Karen Conners. A Celebration of Don's Life will be announced at a later date.
