Donald Everhardt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Services Direct on Feb. 12, 2026.
Donald "Donnie" Lee Everhardt, 75, formerly of Mocksville, NC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Conway Medical Center in Conway, SC.

Donnie was born on January 2, 1951, in Davie County to the late J. W. Everhardt and Lena Francis Everhardt. He was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Donnie retired from Norfolk-Southern Railway after 19 years and, over the years, also worked for Ingersoll Rand and Black's Tire Service. He later moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he would spend his final years with his wife, Tanis, and BG, their adored shih-tzu. They shared countless happy hours together, especially cheering on their favorite sports teams.

Donnie deeply loved his family and left behind unforgettable memories for everyone who crossed his path. He was a talented athlete and a great husband, father, and PaPaw.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Everhardt, and his first wife, Pamela Millsaps Everhardt.

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Tanis; his children, Andrew Everhardt (Tracie) and Jill Atkins (James); his sister, Marcie Bean (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Sidnee Olmedo (Jesus), Dyllan Everhardt, Brady Everhardt, Ashlyn Atkins, Ellis Atkins, and a special nephew, Bradlee Bean; a step-daughter, Adriane Witcher (Doug), and her children, Hayden and Sofiya Witcher.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m., Thursday, February 19th, at Eaton Funeral Chapel in Mocksville, NC, with Rev. Jason Whitaker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
