Donald Lee Ferrell Of Lyburn, WV Donald Lee Ferrell, 75, of Lyburn went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 12, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 16, 1935, at Earling, a son of the late Norwood and Alta Mullins Ferrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Bradley Kevin Ferrell; two sisters, Margaret Blankenship and Clara Brecham; and one granddaughter, Brandi Lashae Ferrell. Donald was a retired coal miner formerly employed with Pittston Coal Company for 20 years. He was a member of the UMWA District 17. Donald was of the Free Will Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was able. Devoted to his family, Donald was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Because of his friendly nature, Donald was always among friends. Those left to love and cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Margaret Walls Ferrell of Lyburn; one son, Donald Scott Ferrell of Lyburn; one daughter, Tammy (Mark) Copley of Amherstdale; two sisters, Betty Packo of Ypsalanti, MI and Frances Reed of Salem, NJ; four grandchildren, Ashley Copley of Charleston, Kaitlyn Craddock of Man, Justin Tyler Ferrell of VA, and Brittany Ferrell of SC; two great-grandchildren, Bradley Scott Ferrell II and Olivia Ferrell, both of SC; one special aunt, Jean Lambert of Christian; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Burgess of Lyburn and Anna Lou Walls of Neibert; very special friends, Harrison and Charlene Spaulding of Madison Creek, Dean Plumley, Johnny and Jenny Osborne, all of Greenvalley, and Ira Lusk of Lorado; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Treaby Scaggs assisted by Brother Shelly Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services. Pall bearers will be family and friends. Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man is in charge of the arrangements.
