Donald Ray Goad

Mr. Donald Ray Goad, age 70, of Mount Airy, passed away late Friday night, November 29, 2024, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Goad was born in Surry County on April 23, 1954, to the late Virginia Gladys Semones Goad and Louis James Goad. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother, he’ll be deeply missed by all who knew him. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family at the beach, especially Ocean Lakes. Mr. Goad is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Mandy Sawyers and Tim, Carissa Banks; grandchildren, Kenyon Patterson, Harley Sawyers, Kustom Sawyers, Lexi Valentine, Alex Gunter; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Ramey and C.L.; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Goad and Angela, Jerry Goad and Linda; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goad was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Goins. A celebration of Mr. Goad’s life will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with the Rev. Joe Pyles, and Rev. Gary Sawyers officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Goad family.
