Donald Gary Hakes, 46, of Cleveland, TN passed away on March 11, 2025. He was born on September 18, 1978 to Gary and Carla Hakes.
Donald loved golf, fishing, and traveling. He was also an avid sports fan of his alma mater, the Arizona Wildcats. He was a dedicated father who loved watching his children in all their many activities. He had a great sense of humor and was always keeping everyone laughing with his endless dad jokes, movie quotes, or song lyircs. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his great grandmother Harriet Chickering Hakes; paternal grandparents: Donald R. and Carolyn Eriksen Hakes; maternal grandparents: Margaret Meyer Doty and Carl B. Doty.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 18 years, Audra McMahon Hakes; daughters: Lily Teresa Hakes and Emma Rose Hakes; parents Gary and Carla Hakes; father and mother-in-law Paul and Sheila McMahon; sisters-in-law Mary McMahon (Brenna Chaplain); special cousins: Jeremy Johnson, Mark Johnson, Michael Winn, Jeff Winn, Adam Hakes, Matthew Hakes, and Jason Hakes; aunts and uncles: Mary Winn, Catherine Johnson, Tom Doty, Scott Hakes and Dona Kay Hakes.
A funeral mass for Donald will be held on Monday March 17th at St. Therese Catholic Church at 12pm with visitation prior from 10am until 12pm. Fr. Mike Nolan will be officiating.
