Don's prolific knowledge of so many subjects and his ability to share that knowledge will perpetuate his memory for many years to come

I'm sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was a good friend when I needed one and remained so for a long time.

Don was one of my mentors early in my planetarium career. He helped me get my first full time planetarium position and was always there to provide guidance and advice. He was a pioneer in the world of planetariums. His contributions to the field will be long remembered. Rest in peace, Captain Science!

Don´s impact on his profession and his community was immeasurable. I was privileged to have been one of the nearly two dozen aspiring planetarians to have gone through the Strasenburgh intern program and benefited from his mentorship. And friendship. A truly interesting, and interested, guy. We´re better from having known him.
