Donald James Heyse, 71, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka.

Donald was born on August 5, 1954, in Mishawaka to the late John and Josephine (Vandormael) Heyse. He graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1972 and later retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation, where he took great pride in serving his community. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, Janet Carnes, in 1996.

Donald enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-quiet mornings spent fishing and the camaraderie he found at the BK Club in Mishawaka. These moments brought him joy, laughter, and lifelong friendships.

He is survived by his two loving daughters, Lori (Ryan) Stough and Erin Everett; his cherished grandchildren, Aliya Stough, Liam Stough, and Sophie Cole; and his devoted brothers, Raymond (Maureen) Heyse and Paul (Barbara) Heyse. He is also remembered with affection by his nieces and nephews: Philip Heyse, Michael Heyse, Heidi Schroeder, Jason Heyse, and Kimberly McGillicuddy.

Honoring Donald's wishes, no services will be held, and cremation has taken place. A private inurnment will be scheduled at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana.
