Donald Charles Hilton

Donald Charles Hilton was born in Ansonia, Connecticut on April 15, 1936 to the late Isabel (Brockington) and O'Donnell Hilton in Ansonia, CT. He was the seventh child born of this union. He attended New Haven Public Schools and graduated from Hillhouse High School. Following graduation, he entered the US Army serving during the. Korean War. During his enlistment, he was stationed in Germany. He was a Paratrooper "Four Nickels" and a member of the VFW, Hamden, Connecticut. He lived in Chicago from 1976 until his retirement from Amtrak where he worked for twenty five years. Following his retirement, he moved to sunny West Palm Beach Florida where he loved playing golf. He also lived in Del Ray Beach, Florida. He returned home to New Haven about seven years ago. An avid traveler, he flew on the Concord, at its time the fastest plane on the planet, to European destinations. He loved history and enjoyed many programs on the history channel. He is survived by his sister, Alberta Hilton Stephens of Hamden, Connecticut, a host of nieces and nephews and adopted nieces Mica Henderson Robinson of Tokyo, Japan and Amber Malone, Mineola, New York. He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters and brothers, Essie Mae Bryant, Juanita Ewing, Reynolds "Sonny" Hilton, Wilhelmina Perkins, William Kenneth Hilton, Raymond L. Hilton, Vivian Clyburn and Beverly Kimbro.
