Donald Johnson Obituary

Donald A. Johnson, age 73, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026 at his home. He was born on January 25, 1952, the son of Fredric and Audrey (Pabich) Johnson.

Donald will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Martha Johnson; his children, Adrien (Katie) Johnson and Daisy (Chris) Boehm; and his cherished grandchildren, Aspen, Brooks, and Haakon Johnson. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Brueggen and brothers, David (Kerry) Johnson, Michael Johnson, Robert Johnson, Paul Johnson, and Steven (Teresa) Johnson, Martha's sisters Elizabeth (Thomas) Fiebelkorn, and Karlyn Neubauer; along with many nieces, nephews and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredric and Audrey Johnson; his infant sister, Mary; his brother, Pete Johnson; and nephews, Jason and Tyler.

Donald was a graduate of Holmen High School and later married Martha Olson, with whom he shared a loving life. He worked in construction and was an avid hunter, angler, trapper and bird watcher. He held a strong appreciation for the land and waterways around him. He believed deeply in the restoration and preservation of natural spaces and valued protecting the environment for future generations.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a monetary contribution may do so to the Mississippi Valley Conservancy or the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in honor and memory of Donald A. Johnson.
