Thinking of you old friend

I was privileged to read your name aloud on 9/11/21. I hope that you Rest In Peace and that God blesses your family.

Hello. My name is RoseAnna, I'm a writer from Winnipeg, Canada. I was in NYC for the first time this past January, and went to the 9/11 Memorial. When I was there, I noticed a woman tracing one of the names - Donald T. Jones II. I asked her if she knew him, and she told me yes, he was her husband. Upon hearing that, I was too emotional to say anything more to her, and really wished I had. I would like to contact Michele and let her know how much that brief encounter meant to me. It put into perspective for me the magnitude of the loss, and my heart goes out to the people of New York City. Michele, if you read this note... please email me sometime. I never had the pleasure of meeting Donald but I was a security guard at the mall for a time and knew the "Chief". My thoughts go out to the entire Jones' Family this day.

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

My sincere thanks to all who have "signed" Donny's Guest Book. The thoughts and feelings expressed by all of you have touched my heart and are deeply felt and appreciated.



On the fifth anniversary of 9/11, Donny's family and close circle of friends remember him as vividly as when he was with us and we miss the "all of him".



Donny was my cousin's son, we were within 4 years of each other in age, and we "grew up" together. I have many good and happy memories of times together with Donny.



The last time we saw each other was at the family Labor Day weekend barbecue, ten days before 9/11. We made plans to touch base again in order to set a day aside to build a tool shed on the property of his home in Livingston, New Jersey, and to make a plan to work together on other projects around his house.



Just the same, for Donny, I built the tool shed with the help of our cousins, Scott and Jamie, my brother, Randy, my father, the late Red Jones, and other family members.

Donny, someday we'll be together again and, with the help of "The Carpenter", we'll build whatever you want.

Through the "2996 Project" I am humbled and honored to have been able to pay tribute to you today! My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends you left here. I pray they've found peace and strength, that their loving memories fill their hearts where it is you'll live on forever. God's blessings to us all- Amen~

You were always my favorite broker when I traded bonds. You were kind, funny, and knowledgable in the field of municipals. You were so young to be taken from your family and friends, but I know that you are in a better place. May peace be with you and your family always.

Even though we weren't so close, you were part of my family, and you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

My heartfelt condolences to the Jones Family. My husband and I live in Richmond, Va. and received the alumni magazine from the U of R. We read the wonderful article about Don. We lost our 24 year old son who was on the 104th floor and also worked for Cantor.We will add Don and your family to our prayers.

Don was the best municipal broker I talked with. He was totally professional and I considered him a good friend even though I rarely saw him in person; as is the case in our business, I talked with him daily but only saw him at outings, etc. He is missed.

Donny was a great cousin who had the type of laugh that would always make you smile. His friends and family will miss him dearly.
